ABOUT ME
Singer/songwriter Mike Corrado garnered national radio and television airplay after releasing his song “On My Watch Tonight” from his 2005 release Falling Awake. The song which features guest vocals from friend and multi-platinum artist Edwin McCain (I’ll Be/I Could Not Ask For More) is the story of a Marine’s journey from Boot Camp to the front lines is quickly becoming an anthem for service men and women past and present around the world. Service is something Mike knows a lot about. After leaving active duty with the Marines, Mike set aside his rifle, picked up a guitar and set out for almost four years of life on the road performing 200-250 shows a year. Both as a headliner and in support of such acts as John Mayer, Edwin McCain, Train, Vertical Horizon and many more, Mike and his band established a strong grass roots following. On September 11, 2001, the day before his 5th CD release and east coast tour, the plans changed. Mike was mobilized back onto active duty and later deployed to Fallujah, Iraq for 12 months. Still finding time to write and perform, while on active duty, Mike filmed and released his live concert DVD: Mike Corrado Band, Live at Thalian Hall in 2004 and his 6th CD release Falling Awake in 2005 just weeks away from deploying. Mike has been featured on CNN, FOX TV, Rolling Stone Magazine and nationally on multiple cable Music-On-Demand channels. For more information please visit MikeCorrado.com and Myspace.com/MikeCorrado

Some members will have received a message of notification today from a member called "baby" asking for them to contact her..this member was a spammer and has now been DELETED AND BANNED from Milplace. Sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience. The staff at milplace do try and ban these spammers as soon as they join but occassionally they do slip through the net. Once again sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Invite your friends!

I have never understood why anyone would sign up on a social network, sit around and then wonder why its not working or why the site is boring. The success of any online social network community depends solely on YOU. That means the next time you hear one of your friends complaining that they don't like another site they belong to, or anyone has a family member or friend deployed, or someone needing some support in any way... or that it's so hard to make friends, that's the perfect opportunity for you to invite them on MILPLACE. Use the Invite Tab on the top navigation bar to invite your friends and help spread the word about the resources we have available.

Get busy connecting!

Yes that's what we do here. No fun if you sign up and never come back or do anything. Explore all that the site has to offer you. Or what you have to offer the site!! Things like forums, chat with other members who are online with you, blogs, photo galleries, game arcades and even create your own Group(s) within the community. You can designate it by any topic of interest, hobby, military base, branch of service, unit, moms at your base, spouses who used to be active duty, whatever you want! The point is get involved, share and enjoy MILPLACE!

Hi how are things going with you? Just a quick reminder that we have a special group on here called MilPlace Angels and we have quite a few soldiers that are needing letters or packages. If you know of any soldiers who would love to receive mail from our Angels, please let us know. The addresses of course are in a closed group.
